Mouloud Ouyahia grew up in Algeria, then moved to France before the age of 18. There he studied cinema and philosophy, then worked in documentary development. He directed and produced his first film, Axxam yaṛɣa, maqaṛ ansaḥmu, which earned him several festival selections, including the Directors Fortnight, the International Short Film Festival in Clermont Ferrand, and the Special Jury Prize at Indielisboa. He is also a producer and co-founder of L'Oeil Vif Productions.

Two brothers set off in search of a new material that would bring recognition for one and wealth for the other. But the road to success turns out to be an existential desert crossing.
This adventure refers as much to contemporary ecological problems caused by mining, as to the colonial history of the 19th and 20th centuries. It aims at showing that the sacralization of technical progress undid that of natural spaces and mythical beliefs.
