In 2011, Luka started his studies at HFBK Hamburg Academy of Arts in the film department. He graduated with an MFA in 2016 in the class of Angela Schanelec. For the best graduation work of 2016 at HFBK Hamburg, he received the Encouraging New Talent Award grant, supporting his graduation plans, for the short film Grapevines (2016). During his studies, Luka was supported by the K.H. Ditze grant.
In 2022, Luka’s film Without won the jury prize for best mid-length film at Visions du Réel in Nyon, the Grand Prix at Beldocs Belgrade. The same year, the feature documentary Invoked, which he co-directed with Srđa Vučo, premiered at IDFA Amsterdam in Envision Competition.

After suffering a contusion from falling out of a pear tree, once-famous Knight Denić loses interest in knighthood and is sent to a rehabilitation center for dysfunctional knights. There, he won’t regain his chevalier skills—but he will meet a crew of misfits plotting to assassinate the king and overthrow the royal system.
I'm hoping to meet some new people during the Locarno Residency days, get new perspectives on my project and some insights into the whole process I'm delving into.
