The films selected for the 78th Locarno Film Festival will be announced at a press conference in July. The daily programme of the edition will be available on the website from mid-July. Find out what has already been announced about the edition here.
The new edition of the Locarno Film Festival will welcome you from 6 to 16 August with more than 300 films, screened in 13 theaters, public meetings with prestigious guests from all over the world, the Rotonda by la Mobiliare with its quality art and music program as well as special events and initiatives to help you discover cinema in all its possibilities.
Festival passes, Day Passes and tickets can be purchased either online through our website or on-site at the Festival Info Points, which will be open starting August 4.
Please note that some passes require the presentation of an official ID and/or Student ID.

Yes, la Rotonda will be organized by the Locarno Film Festival together with Main Partner la Mobiliare, according to arrangements to be announced in the coming months.
As a Festival, our goal is to offer as many films available in the Digital Library as possible, without geographical restrictions. However, the final decision as to how and where films are made available is up to the filmmakers and production companies.
Yes, this year the Locarno Kids la Mobiliare program will be even richer with screenings dedicated to young children and their families and educational activities (workshops and ateliers) curated in collaboration with the event's educational partners. Promoted by la Mobiliare and intended for teens aged 13 to 15, the Atelier du futur will also return: three days of workshops, meetings and visions to express their creativity in a joint project. Yes, The Locarno Academy, the Locarno Film Festival's educational program aimed at creating a networking platform for emerging young talent in the fields of filmmaking, film criticism and the film industry, will be held in Locarno this year from Aug. 6-16. Click here for more information.
