Born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Rithy Panh is a filmmaker, writer and founder of the Bophana Center. He has directed the films Rice People (1994), One Evening After the War (1998), The Land of Wandering Souls (2000), S21: The Khmer Rouge Killing Machine (2003), The Sea Wall (2008), The Missing Picture (2013), Graves Without a Name (2018), Irradiated (2020), Everything Will Be OK (2022), and most recently Meeting with Pol Pot (2024), starring Irène Jacob and Grégoire Colin. He co-wrote the book The Elimination (2011) with Christophe Bataille, about his survival under Pol Pot's regime.
