Prefestival Events & Screenings

Before the 78th edition of the Locarno Film Festival kicks off, a series of events will take place throughout the ten days of August. Curated by artistic director Giona A. Nazzaro, these initiatives bring special selections of past works from previous editions of the Festival to Switzerland, from squares to museums to Alpine peaks. Recent discoveries and surprises, or gems from the past that have made cinematic history, the films presented are the perfect way to prepare for the screenings on the Piazza Grande.

Festeggiamo

Festeggiamo is back again this year thanks to the municipalities of Locarnese and Valli (with the support of the Locarno Film Festival): a traveling outdoor film festival curated by our Artistic Director Giona A. From mid-June until the end of July in as many as seven locations in the region, audiences will have the opportunity to experience the Piazza Grande in many picturesque locations in the Locarno region and its valleys.
