Eurimages is the film fund of the Council of Europe which promotes independent filmmaking by providing financial support to feature-length films, animation and documentary films in its 39 member States (38 of the 47 member states of the Council of Europe, as well as Canada). Over its 35 years of existence, Eurimages has supported nearly 2.500 feature length international co-productions.
Eurimages supports the co-production and exhibition of feature films, as well as awarding prizes for project development at major film markets and pursuing active strategies to redress gender inequalities and to support environmental sustainability in the film industry. The Fund’s activities are mainly financed by contributions from its member states and policy decisions are taken by the representatives of these states sitting on the Eurimages Board of Management. An Executive Committee, comprising one third of the Board members, ensures continuity of management between Board meetings. Day-to-day activities are managed by a Secretariat based in Strasbourg, France. More information can be found at www.coe.int/eurimages.
